Maximise the purifying properties of clay

Clay has been used for skin and wound preparations since Ancient Egyptian times. Respected healer Hippocrates and scientist Aristotle classified various clays based on their composition for medicinal purposes.

Bentonite clay, in particular, has a very negative charge, enabling it to attract very positively charged toxins – it has superior drawing capability, is great for problem skin, and deeply cleansing.

A good clay mask with bentonite clay as its base promotes detoxification from the skin and will also have skin nourishing components like oils and minerals.

Our skin is permeable and exposed to many sources of foreign material – from obvious things like make up and sunscreen, impurities in our water supply, and in the air. Airborne chemicals are particularly concerning as we are often unaware of the exposure. Fumes, sprays and volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), are ubiquitous in our environment now, and while we can have control over what we use ourselves, we’re not immune from general exposure.

It's a great way to relieve the load your skin carries from life in today's world, and feels amazing!. If you're looking for a great way to repair and pamper your skin, using our soft clay treatment is as simple as....

DETOX: Applying the mask around the face, concentrating on the t junction (forehead, nose and chin) and avoiding the fine skin of the eyes. Masks are typically left on the face for a period of about 15-20 minutes, to allow the clay to take effect and the nourishing ingredients to absorb, but you're the best judge of this. If you feel like 5 - 10 minutes is enough, it's enough.

Removing the mask or paste is easy when you have a good sponge that can absorb the clay effectively while still being respectful of your skin.

RESET pH: Once you’ve drawn all those chemicals and toxins from your skin, you want to bring the skin back to its natural, slightly acidic pH. Commercially made alcohol based toners can do this, or you can simply use our pure, first pass organic Rosewater toner, it's heaven in a spray bottle. Another option from your pantry is a very dilute solution of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar (1:10, or roughly 1 tablespoon in a glass of water) ) to truly honour your skin.

SEAL: your skin by gently applying an organic and pure oil. Light, gentle strokes up the neck and face serve to seal the skin and stimulate the new skin cells.

Ta dah! You will feel amazing.
